Pushpinder & Nathan - A Beautiful "Big Punjabi" Wedding

Indian punjabi wedding bay area

We never imagined that a backyard wedding can be so beautiful. Period.

As we mentioned in one of the previous blog posts, lately there has been a trend for smaller, more intimate wedding ceremonies as the couples are shooting for intimacy as opposed to unabashed extravagance. This offers an atmosphere that’s much more personal & memorable.

Pushpinder and Nathan contacted us through the reference of a mutual friend. We were delighted to be part of this amazingly beautiful wedding, named as "Big Punjabi", and hosted at their newly renovated house. The place was tastefully decorated by Pushpinder's sisters, Rupa and Sonya, and her children, nieces and cousins. The open and airy living room led into the backyard which had the evening California sun casting its golden glow over the whole space. We loved capturing the images of guests and family bathed in that soft golden glow.

The day started with us capturing details and quick getting ready pictures for Pushpinder and Nathan. Pushpinder looked ravishingly beautiful with her light golden outfit from Rabani and Rakha by Pia Ka Ghar. Checkout images with details of her hands with incredibly intricate henna work by the amazing artist, Mujahid Hussain. Nathan carried the Indian traditional wedding outfit by Sabyasachi by Pia Ka Ghar with an equal ease and grace. The getting ready session led into Baraat with Nathan riding his bike as a groom. This was followed by Ardaas (the prayer) and Milini (Bride and Groom side greeting each other) and Jaimala (exchange of garlands between Bride and Groom). Pushpinder's niece Jasleen sang for the first dance of the couple. After some speeches DJ Love from Desi Jammers made sure that guests danced the evening away while also enjoying the sumptuous cuisine from Jalsa Catering.

Congratulations Pushpinder & Nathan and thank you for letting us be part of this beautiful wedding. Sharing some moments from the wedding here.
