We went to Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont for this Maternity shoot. The couple - Dipti and Jasmeet are good friends, and their cute daughter Inaya is always fun to play with. The Farm has different sections and each provides a very unique picturesque background. One will see a country like rustic setting with farms and tractors in the background. There is another one with a small train station and old rail passenger cars parked. One of the gardens has a big white Victoria style house in the middle. There are barns with goats, rabbits, horses and old agricultural equipment. Do not be surprised if you are walking and a peacock crosses your path. We were visited by one while shooting.
We knew in advance that this was going to be one of the coldest day this winter. But given our schedules, no other day was available. It was sunny but the wind chill factor made it quite intense. As explained above the park provided great settings for a maternity/family shoot. We played with Inaya, went to couple of spots to take pictures and wrapped up in two hours. After that we went to an Indian restaurant next to the farm where we enjoyed Aloo tikki and Pao Bhaji (Indian Snacks) and warmed ourselves with hot masala chai.
Thanks Dipti and Jasmeet for your patience and for braving the cold to get the pictures done. And thanks to my lovely wife Priya for helping with the lighting, she also kept Inaya engaged and entertained when I was taking couple and Mom only pictures. I could not feel my hands after two hours of shooting in freezing cold. But looking at these images makes it all worthwhile.
